Fortegra High School 9:12 Invitational gets increased coverage, new home for 2020


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A new logo, new home and more live coverage are set for the third annual Fortegra High School 9:12 Invitational presented by The CSI Companies.


Fletcher High School will serve as the host venue for the first time, bringing with it a new logo for the event that features everything Jacksonville has to offer. All four games on Friday and Saturday will broadcast live through the streaming channels from News4Jax. The championship game will air live on Channel 4 at 7 p.m., with the third place game airing live on CW17 at 4 p.m.

The live radio coverage of the tournament starts on 1010XL starts Thursday with XL Primetime with Joe Cowart, Ryan Green, and Matt Hayes airing live from Noon to 3 p.m. The semifinals will air live on Friday along with the championship game on Saturday.

“We are excited to start some new traditions with this year’s tournament, thanks to Tammie Talley and the staff at Fletcher, with a new venue,” said Alan Verlander, Founder and CEO of Airstream Ventures and High School 9:12. “We will continue to make sure all the necessary precautions are in place to make this championship as safe as possible. With a great lineup teams, that are all going to be competing at a high level this year, we are looking forward to a great weekend of basketball. I hope our community will come out and watch this event and see the wonderful basketball talent our area offers.”

The event features eight of the top teams from the First Coast region, including two of the top players in the country with West Nassau’s Deebo Coleman, a Georgia Tech signee, and Lee’s Alex Fudge, an LSU signee. Other notable college recruits include Bolles’ Bobby Crouch (Babson College), Episcopal’s Mark Flakus (UNF) and Bartram Trail’s Alijah Kuehl (University of San Diego).


All eight teams will play three games, starting with first round matchups on Thursday, Dec. 10. Bartram Trail will face off against Lee at 1 p.m., with Camden County taking on West Nassau at 3 p.m. In the night session, Bolles will face Fletcher at 6 p.m. followed by Atlantic Coast playing Episcopal at 8 p.m.
